Why Choose Dynamic Doingness?
DDi’s language translation services teams are not just bilingual but also bicultural, which equips them with an understanding of semantics and style in both source and target languages.
Only Educated Native Specialists Translate Your Documents
DDi language translation specialists are veteran professionals and educated in both the US and the country of origin. Translations and localization are only handled by natives who are experts in the field (if the subject is a specialized one.)
Our Specialists Translate Emotions, Tones, and Pulses
DDi translators don’t just translate words; they also convey the tone of the original document while maintaining ethnic correctness. This is why translation software will never replace a DDi translator – because our specialists translate emotions, tones, and pulses – all within a cultural and regional framework. Moreover, translation software cannot necessarily discern between the multiple definitions that a word in context can have. In fact, the same word can have opposite meanings.
Each Translator Keeps Current with the Latest Language Rules
Our translators keep up with the latest language rules and changes. For example, Spanish translators follow the Royal Academy of Spain rules which recently have been updated to include changes of language use in all of the Spanish-speaking countries (Diccionario Panhispánico de dudas). DDi is careful to ensure that our translators remain current with these changes.
Technology Term Usage is Current for Each Country and Region
Technology is also changing quickly and it is important to coin or encourage the Spanish equivalent for that new term, instead of falling into the easy route of "leaving it in English". When we started with Toshiba 15 years ago, they were just breaking into the Latin American market and the Toshiba laptops (Notebooks) were some of the first to enter that market. So we coined many terms in Spanish and the industry followed. That is an ideal position to be in as a full-service translation and localization company. Mostly, however, one has to examine how a term ends up being used the most in the market which is why our translators must be natives as well as bicultural and bilingual. For example – some Latin people prefer the term "tablet" to be left in English while others prefer the Spanish equivalent of "tableta". It is still not certain what the fate of this term will be, time will tell.
Specialized Translation Teams Dedicated to Marketing & Advertising
Language is fluid. Our translators are not just technically trained but also very flexible and adaptable to language change in specific markets. Many of our translators are published writers or have translated literary works.
DDi’s adaptations and localization services teams have experience and training in marketing and advertising. They possess that artistic marketing ability that allows them to seamlessly adapt translated ad copy to specific target markets and know how far the linguistic envelope can and should be pushed.
You Have to Have Passion!
Our translators are very passionate. Each invests a lot of technical effort and heart into his/her work and will frequently spend hours researching the proper grammatical or contextual use of a term. They review their translation before turning it over to our QA team who will point out omissions and inconsistencies (if any) polish the document, and suggest ways to elevate the translated document to a higher level of communication. A careful "side-check" (the side-by-side, sentence-by-sentence editing) of the document is then performed before the final document is read to ensure it is smooth and natural-sounding, as if it had been written in that language originally.
Once the QA process has been completed, the translated document is returned to the original translator for approval – a vital step in preserving and strengthening DDi’s cultural fabric – and then sent to the client for review. DDi translation projects are always delivered on-time and always for the estimated cost.
Why DDi Translators Are a Step Above
As we are dedicated to the success of our clients, it is vital to our cultural fabric that our translators excel in conveying the tone, emotion, and pulse of a document. Our final translations are smooth, natural sounding, and read as if they were written in that language originally. To achieve this standard, each translator must excel as a team member and be technically proficient.
DDi’s translators all have University/College degrees. Some have Master's degrees and PhDs. They are educated; they have a full life experience and are very bright. They understand the material being translated and are not afraid to ask questions or query anything that is not clear. Moreover, as a team, we typically work long hours, weekends and holidays if needed to turn in a polished document.
With DDi, it is not about the translator alone. It is all about the final quality of the document and the team effort it takes to attain that quality.
